Hi I’m Damian. Every piece of art I create begins long before the first brushstroke, they usually morph in my head while on a long hike, surfing, or just sitting quietly at home being present, when intuition replaces intention, allowing each composition to emerge rather than be imposed. The canvas becomes less an object to control and more of a dialogue between consciousness, memory, and the natural world.
My slow painting process and progression of layers, allow each art piece to become it's own.   Nature and surrealism are constant elements in my art. Nature is not merely a subject within my paintings; it is a language through which I investigate transformation, duality, freedom, and the unseen forces that shape the human experience. Surreal imagery becomes a bridge between the external landscape and the internal one inviting viewers to discover meanings unique to their own journey.

Rather than seeking perfection, I pursue presence. The finished work is not the execution of a predetermined idea but the conversation between intuition, time, and the unknown.

I hope each painting offers more than visual beauty, and more of a place of contemplations, a work that continues to revel itself over years of living with it, rewarding patience, curiosity, and reflection.
